OUR STORY (as told by Rio 🐾)

Hi, I’m Rio!

I may have joined the story a little later, but I’ve heard enough over the past year to piece together how all of this began.

It started nearly eight years ago in the Netherlands, where Gelina and Alisher met at university. From what I can tell, Alisher noticed Gelina right away — and decided to stay very committed to the idea. After a couple of months of persistence (and what I understand to be a mild case of stalking), Gelina finally agreed to go on a date.That, as it turns out, was a very good decision.From there, things unfolded naturally — long conversations, shared adventures, and plenty of trips together. They built something easy and real, the kind of connection that doesn’t need much explaining.Then came graduation… followed immediately by COVID, which had the brilliant idea of sending them to opposite sides of the world — Gelina back to Greece and Alisher to the US. Not exactly part of the plan.

But somehow, they found their way back to each other — this time in Madrid (my birthplace, just saying), where they spent a few years fully embracing life: warm evenings, good food, great friends, and plenty of siestas.And then, of course, I arrived.

I’d say that’s when things really came together.

Shortly after, they made things official with a civil wedding in Greece in January 2026 — a quiet but meaningful moment, before the bigger celebration with all of you.

Since then, I’ve taken on an important role — making sure they get outside often, don’t take life too seriously, and stay focused on what matters most. From my very professional perspective, they’ve done a pretty great job.

And now, here we are — ready for the next chapter.

They’re getting married (again, but this time with all of you).

I’ll be there, obviously. 🐾
